Case Studies – Civic Centre, Uxbridge
Background
We were initially approached by our regular customer Mitie, who wanted assistance in replacing carpet tiles throughout the council offices. The offices were fully occupied and needed to remain operational if any works were to be carried out.
Approach
After meetings with both Mitie and the client we made suggestions as to how we would approach the situation without moving everything and everyone out of the building. Our proposal was to work out of normal working hours was not an option. We proposed an out of hours, ‘lift & shift’ installation whereby we use suitable plant to lift up the desks, remove the existing tiles and replace with new ones. This installation method means the minimal of disruption and staff returning the following morning to newly installed carpet tiles.
Product
Desso ‘Essence’ Carpet tiles.
Recycling
As Middlesex Flooring’s commitment to the environment, we dealt with the recycling of the removed carpet tiles and provided waste transfer notes.
The result
All works were completed on time, on budget and as agreed with the client. The method of lifting and shifting furniture with our specialised equipment has been used multiple times at the civic centre.
